It's TexMex in Arkansas. How good could that be? It's not that good. Really. Stay away unless it's the only place open and you are super hungry.. The salsa and chips are edible, but at least are free. It's a weird, cold, red only sauce with absolutely no spicy heat it. I had some kind of three taco plate. It's basically canned beans and some attempt at colored rice and store bought tortillas with some fajita meat. The margaritas taste like limeade with a faint taste of cheap alcohol. Their service was good and the waitress was attentive. Anyone who can rate this higher than 3 stars has limited knowledge of what good, much less decent, Tex Mex is like.

Well, I mean, their cheese dip is good, I'll give them that much. It works great in contrast with their salsa. They have decent customer service for a drive-thru. That's it. I'm out of everything I had nice to say. I asked for the two-taco lunch special, and they gave me a quesadilla. Of course I was home before I realized that fact, and wasn't about to turn around. The chicken was bland, and I guess their quesadillas are supposed to have tomatoes on them, but only one of my four quarters had actual tomato chunks, so it was just a strange surprise. I guess the whole thing was pretty bland, because I ate a whole glop of sour cream and the only reason I knew it was sour cream was the texture. Gross. I'll go again, but it'll be a while.

I ordered the three hard shell tacos and cheese dip. The cheese dip was slightly burnt and actually had chunks of the skin that will form on the top when cheese dip sits for a long while. The Tres Taco dinner was very "old". Dried out corn, rice and beans, the tacos where just as bad ..., only ate one. Not worth going to any more. Waste

I don't have anything life changing to state about Mexico Chiquito. My husband received a gift card for his birthday, so we went for dinner. The facility itself is nice enough, and our waiter was VERY attentive, efficient, and friendly. The food itself tastes fine, yet is somewhat pricey. I believe the Chicken Fajitas were around $11. Although we didn't get any during this visit, I hear the cheese dip is amazing. I'd honestly probably not go back on my own, but wouldn't be opposed if others were wanting to go or we had another giftcard or coupon.

I took my family to this place today. It was around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The salsa wasn't that great at all...almost had a ketchuppy flavor. There was no heat to it. The queso tasted funny. the food was just mediocre, I had calamari tacos, my 10 year old step son had Tres Enchaladas which he said wasn't great, my husband had fajita quesadillas which were overstuffed and impossible to eat. The service was horrible, the waitress didn't offer appetizers which we wanted, she took our drink orders and ran off, she kept sitting stuff right in front of my 18 month old, which he grabbed, hot plates and all, she never brought tortillas I asked for w/ queso, I had to ask again when she brought the food, she didn't pre-bus our table at all, didn't offer to-go boxes. She just dropped our ticket off and put on her coat to go outside and smoke. I told the manager about this and he didn't seem worried at all about it. He didn't offer anything to make me want to come back and I won't I realize when a family of 7 comes in you automatically think: there is a bad tip, but my tip always starts at 20% and goes up or down depending on the service. She got 8 dollars on a 65 dollar tab. We will never go back to this place again.

This location is the best among the other Mexico Chiquito locations. The free salsa was little bland but decent. Our servers was very friendly and helpful in telling me what special was this month. My mom and I ordered the two can dine for $12.99 in which can order appetizer(cheese dip, etc.), main entree, and dessert. The fatijas we ordered as our entree was good with plentiful amount of meat. You can't beat this for the price of $12.00. I would recommend this location to anyone who want good tex-mex.

I have family in Arkansas, so have eaten at Mexico Chiquito many times, mostly at their original location on Markham. We went to this location on Dec. 22, 2010 and it was a FAR cry from what I was used to. To be fair, their cheese dip is still awesome. They make it with cumin and it is quite different from most cheese dips. Now for the bad: the floor was gummy in most places and so greasy it was treacherous in a few places. The service was absolutely horrible, and none of the four of us got "exactly" what we ordered. The punch (which was my all-time favorite at any Mexican joint until this visit) was majorly watery (even without ice!) and the chips tasted old and over-salted. I was so very disappointed, as I had looked forward to trying this newer location.

You have to be a local to appreciate the appeal. 70% sugar, 30% red #5 punch is a local favorite, as is the odd cheese dip (yellow with... paprika? cumin? & thinned w/ milk). The upside for me is the chimichanga. It is an epic greasy mess. I eat it, at most, twice per year. I'm sure the American Heart Association would like to have this banned.

The cheese dip is excellent. The prices are reasonable, but odd for some items. They have a drive through, but be careful to check the prices before ordering, because sometimes a cheese dip is $6 when you can get it free with particular items. I've tried the chimichanga and tacos and both are ok. Keep your expectations under control and you'll be satisfied.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
